snapecase: celebrating Snape throughout his ages . . . in 2018!

Snape Showcase

To promote [info]snapecase, cut and paste the code below into your journal.

Hi, there! Miss me? I missed you—and your wonderful works of 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2017—so snapecase will return in January 2018!

The 2018 snapecase Schedule
The Snape Showcase runs on Eastern Time.
 Sign-Up Period  1-7 October 2017
 Assignments Sent  8 October 2017
 Assignment Acceptance  15 October 2017
Fan Works Due  3 December 2017
 Posting Period  1-30 January 2018
 The Reveal  31 January 2018

The Snape Showcase/snapecase is an anonymous fest that celebrates Severus Snape throughout his ages with a showcase of art and short fic. Gen, het, and slash fan works of any kind and of any rating are welcome. To participate, writers and artists (18 and older) create fan works concerning Snape with regard to their assigned age-range categories.

Age-Range Categories
One  Snape from birth to 10-years-old
Two  Snape from 11- to 20-years-old
Three  Snape from 21- to 30-years-old
Four  Snape from 31- to 40-years-old
Five  Snape from 41- to 50-years-old (and beyond)

Here's the quick & easy version of how to participate in snapecase:

  1. Read the rules, schedule, and submission guidelines before you join and friend/watch the community, and then promote the fest—the more, the merrier!

  2. During the sign-up period, request age-range categories in order of preference; you'll be assigned one age-range category at a time on a first-come, first-served basis.

  3. Reply to your assignment email, and then friend the snapecase_mod so that I can show you how your entry will look when posted to the community (or don't if you don't want a preview).

  4. Create a fan work that can fit into one LiveJournal post that concerns one, some, or all of Snape's ages within your assigned age-range category.

  5. Ask me for help if you need it. Ask me for an extension if you need one. Tell me if you need to drop out. Do any and all of this asking and/or telling well before the deadline.

  6. Turn in your work as directed and on time, and don't tell anyone you created it (or post it anywhere) until after the Reveal because this is an anonymous fest.

  7. Watch the fest, comment on the works that move you, reply to the comments that your work receives, and thank everyone involved in making the fest a success when the Reveal posts.
